Compared to last week: Slaughter cows and bulls were steady. Feeder steers
were uneven, 300-400 lbs calves 3.00-5.00 lower, and calves over 400 lbs 3.00-
4.00 higher. Feeder heifers were 3.00-5.00 lower.
Supply included 600 feeder calves; 559 feeder yearlings; 51 replacement
cows; 97 slaughter cows; 10 slaughter bulls; and 6 replacement bulls. Feeder
supply consisted of about 40 percent English breed and English crosses; 35
percent Exotic breed and Exotic crosses; 25 percent Brahma and Brahma crosses;
and 0 percent Holsteins and other diary breeds. Feeder supply about 45 percent
steers and bulls with 55 percent heifers. Prices follow with weighted average
price in parenthesis.
