Compared to last week: Slaughter cows were 2.00-4.00 lower. Slaughter bulls
were steady. Feeder steers and heifers were 2.00 higher on calves under 500 lbs
and steady to 2.00 lower on calves over 500 lbs.
Supply included 600 feeder calves; 270 feeder yearlings; 55 replacement
cows; 100 slaughter cows; 20 slaughter cows; and 1 replacement bull. Feeder
supply consisted of about 40 percent English breed and English crosses; 30
percent Exotic breed and Exotic crosses; 27 percent Brahma and Brahma crosses;
and 3 percent Holsteins and other diary breeds. Feeder supply consisted of 55
percent steers and bulls with 45 percent heifers. Prices follow with weighted
average price in parenthesis.
