Compared to last week: Slaughter cows were mostly steady. Slaughter bulls
were 1.00 higher. Feeder steers and heifers were uneven, light weight calves
3.00 to 4.00 higher and heavier calves were steady to 2.00 lower.
Supply included 200 feeder calves; 100 feeder yearlings; 36 replacement
cows; 29 slaughter cows; 14 slaughter bulls; and 1 replacement bull. Feeder
supply consisted of about 40 percent English breed and English crosses; 30
percent Exotic breed and Exotic crosses; 29 percent Brahma and Brahma crosses;
and 1 percent Holsteins and other dairy breeds. Feeder supply about 53
percent steers and bulls with 47 percent heifers. Prices follow with weighted
average price in parenthesis.
